It’s Friday and I am sitting in Calculus II. I check my watch every two minutes, waiting for the time to hit 3:20 p.m. so I can go celebrate my hard work from the prior week. I just want to go out, drink, and de-stress from the past week of bullshit that I survived. Unfortunately, Friday should not be the best day of the week. If it is, then your whole system is fucked up. Here’s how.

If you want the life that you have always dreamed of, then you cannot take two days off to celebrate such a short period of accomplishment. Life is a 24/7, 365 days a year job. You cannot waste two days a week. If you do the math, you are wasting 104 days a year. If you entertain this lifestyle for 10 years, then you just wasted 1040 days in your life that you could have utilized for something that actually matters.

The Illusion Of The Weekend

You are wasting precious time in your life by living for the weekends. Shit, I am guilty of it too. I have had terrible weeks so much so that I have longed for the weekend. I just want to have two days to unwind and relax.

Fuck that. Fuck the illusion of, “Oh fuck its Monday.” Fuck the illusion of hump day Wednesday. These are all illusions created by your own behavior. You automatically ruin your productivity by telling yourself, “I don’t want to work as hard today because its Monday. No one likes Mondays.”

This mentality is hindering your future. You have to think long term. The wealthiest people in the world have a long term mentality. They are thinking about what they have to accomplish this month and this year. These people do not fantasize how fucked up they are going to get on Saturday because they had a bad week. They take on each day as a new challenge.

I’m In The Same Boat

Don’t get me wrong, I have lived for the weekend, vacations, breaks, and even snow days. I would sleep in until noon, lay in bed until 2 p.m. surfing the internet, and continue to procrastinate until the evening to maybe get something done.

My entire day was just wasted, and the shitty thing is that I will go into Sunday with the same mentality.

I started to feel lost.

My website saw no growth. My grades were just average. I wasn’t making any progress towards the lifestyle I dreamed of living.

Everyday Is Monday

Once, I started to live day by day and use each day as an opportunity to just improve by 1%, my life started to change. Just 1%. Finally, I am making enough money from this project to pay off my loans and debts. I feel prepared every time I step into a classroom. I finally have enough time to read to learn and grow as a person to be the person I want to be.

Now if you live for the weekend and you are happy, then you can take everything I just told you and throw that shit out of the window. You have unlocked the key to success and do not need any guidance.

Now if you live for the weekend and you are unhappy, I promise if you just take one weekend and pretend that Friday evening, Saturday, and Sunday are just another day of the week, you will see an exponential growth in your standard of living.

But what do I know I’m just a dude.
